Starting the Process

I contacted our local school district to see if Maggie will qualify for Special Pre-school Services. I have a few pages of paperwork to fill out and then they will assess Maggie.

It's an interesting process. I don't want to be a difficult parent, but I feel like I am going to want to be very involved. I do know that we need professional help through the therapists. But I also know that the old saying is true, "The Squeaky Wheel Gets the Grease."

It's not that I want to be inappropriately "squeaky" but I do want to be Maggie's biggest advocate. That my privilege and my responsibility.

So, here we go... I will be praying along every step that I allow God
to be glorified through all we do.

Gosh, our lives are parallel. We are doing the same thing with Emma. I hope your transition into the school district is smooth. Just remember God is in control and He has one amazing plan for Maggie. He will guide the people working on Maggie's plan to suit her perfectly.

Hi! I found your blog through Jen's (Emma's mom)....and have just spent a good portion of my kids naptime reading. So many of your posts are posts that I could have written about my daughter, Kira (4 yrs). She has severe hypotonia and muscle weakness...but why??? Test after test after test but still no answers....all are normal but what is normal about a 4 year who can't walk independantly??

I will be thinking about you as your transition into the school district...I hope that it goes smoothly for you. I remember the nerves that I felt as we started that with Kira.

Maggie is just adorable! I loved being able to hear her sweet voice!!
